The City partners with Hdl Companies to provide online services for all your business license needs, including renewals, change of ownership/address, and dissolution of business.

Business License Services By Mail
If you are not able to purchase your new license, or renew, online, you may download a business license application below, or request a form be mailed to you, by calling 415.899.8917. Please note that this option will extend the approval time for your business license or renewal. You may also request forms by mail to close a business, or change of address/ownership/business name.

SB 1186 - Disability Access Law
On September 19, 2012 Governor Brown signed into law SB 1186. This bill imposes, beginning on January 1, 2013, until December 31, 2018, an additional state fee on any applicant for a local business license or equivalent instrument or permit, or renewal thereof. Its purpose is to increase disability access and compliance with construction-related accessibility requirements and develop educational resources for businesses to facilitate compliance with federal and state disability laws.
