The Municipal Code of the City of Novato is a comprehensive code of regulations adopted by the City Council in order that the City of Novato can function as a safe, cohesive and harmonious community.

How to view the City of Novato Municipal Code:

• View the Municipal Code online by clicking the button below. Please note: You will leave the City of Novato website and go to Municode.com.   
• Visit the City Administrative Offices, 922 Machin Avenue, between the hours of 9 AM and 5 PM. Offices are open Monday - Thursday and alternating Friday's. Please see City calendar for closure information.
• To review, question or interpret the Zoning Chapter of the Municipal Code with a City Planner, please visit the Community Development Department between the hours of 9 AM and 11 AM, Monday - Thursday, or call 415-899-8989 to schedule an appointment. Copies of any part of the Code are provided at $0.30 per page.
