Novato is the northernmost city in Marin County and is approximately twenty-nine miles north of San Francisco, thirty-seven miles northwest of Oakland and approximately 15 miles south of the wine country. Novato covers twenty-eight square miles and is proximate to Bay Area businesses, venture capital, and educational institutions including U.C. Berkeley, Sonoma State University, and U.C. San Francisco.
