All City permit fees are consolidated in the Master Fee Schedule to assist our community and City staff in quickly locating the appropriate fee for service. Novato's Revised Master Fee Schedule will be effective on September 1, 2022.
Following the September 1 increase, the Master Fee Schedule may be updated annually on July 1 based on the Consumer Price Index for the San Francisco-Oakland-Hayward area (CPI).
Special Event /Parade Permits:
All completed permit applications are submitted to and reviewed by the Traffic Sergeant.
The organizer/applicant needs to complete an application form. Pre-printed application forms are also located at the City Administrative Offices, 922 Machin Avenue, or at the Novato Police Department, 909 Machin Ave.
Application Requirements:
- A plan documenting the event area or parade route
- Estimate of the number of attendees
- Event/Parade date and time
- Whether restroom facilities will be on site
- Evidence of community notification of the parade/event
- "No Parking" signs need to be posted at least 24 hours in advance if required
- A receipt of the permit fee paid to either City Hall or to the Police Department.
- A completed Hold Harmless Agreement form
