The City's Sustainability Program supports a range of educational and outreach programs that provide our residents, businesses, and schools with the information, tools, and resources they need to reduce their environmental impact, with a focus on reducing local greenhouse gas emissions.

In July 2023, the City began the process of updating our Climate Action Plan (CAP), and in late-fall 2023/early-winter 2024 a series of public workshops were hosted at Sustainability Commission meetings to seek community input on a range of potential climate actions to be included in the updated CAP.

The draft actions are currently being reviewed by City staff and once the actions are confirmed, a greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions analysis will be completed to assess the emissions reduction potential of each action. The GHG analysis will help the City to identify priority actions to be implemented.
