Hoog Park Playground & Accessibility Enhancements CIP Project No. 17-004
Description
Josef Hoog Park is one of Novato’s beloved community parks spanning 9.8 acres and featuring rolling hills, open green space, a half-court outdoor basketball court, playground and reservable barbecue area.
This playground improvement project was identified as a priority in the City’s Parks Master Plan which was adopted by City Council in April 2024 after a year long community engagement process. The project was included and approved in the Fiscal Year 2024/2025 Budget for Capital Improvement Projects by City Council.
In July 2024, the City applied for the GameTime Community Champions™ Playground Grant to support this project. Staff were notified in August 2024 that the project had been awarded the matching grant for up to $200,000 towards the purchase of playground equipment.

Benefit
This project will provide more opportunities for Novato residents to actively participate and play at Hoog Park through upgraded playground amenities.
