Project Overview
Diablo Avenue / De Long Avenue Corridor Enhancements (CIP #22-003)
Description
De Long Avenue / Diablo Avenue is a multi-lane arterial that carries regional traffic through Novato and connects with Highway 101. The corridor is also an important east-west connection for bicyclists and pedestrians and is one block from downtown Novato and Novato's transit center. Because of both the collision data and resident’s concerns, project improvements along De Long Avenue/Diablo Avenue represent one of the City of Novato's top priorities for enhancing safety. The project proposes several traffic safety elements to be installed to calm arterial traffic, improve pedestrian access by shortening pedestrian crossing distances and increasing the visibility of traffic signals.
