The Public Works Traffic Division maintains the city wide system of traffic markings that include approximately 600 stops messages and bars, 780 arrows and messages and 135 locations where curb color is replaced annually.  The crew also maintains 135 pedestrian and 45 school crossing messages and crosswalks. These are refurbished as needed in order to maintain a minimum of 50% reflectivity.  The crew installs and removes messages and lines as required by the city engineer.  We are currently in our 4th year applying thermoplastic markings to replace painted marking.  Thermoplastic has a life span or 3 to 7 years.

The Traffic Division also assists in the raised pavement marker installation and striping contract, issued yearly.  They also cat track and layout of new intersection requested by our Engineering Department and provide electrical, plumbing and carpentry services, tree pruning around signal lights and signs as needed.
