Welcome to the Parks and Islands Maintenance Division

The Parks Maintenance Division routinely provides maintenance to all that is green and grows within the City.  We also assist in any emergency operations.

The Parks Division currently maintains 228 acres or 34 developed parks, 6 athletic field locations, 1 community pool, and grounds equaling 73 acres, and more than 155 acres of undeveloped parks, City open space, and roadside mowing. 

The Islands Maintenance Division maintains 90 acres of landscape the health and safety of approximately 23,000 street trees. There are approximately 450 locations of work which include approximately 34 acres of landscaped median islands and 56 acres of other landscape work, including sidewalk areas.

The Division is also responsible for all of the weed abatement throughout the City. We have an Integrated Pest Management Policy, which minimizes the use of pesticides on city-owned property and formalizes the City’s practice of using safe and effective non-pesticide alternatives.
