The City of Novato has completed Olive Avenue Improvements Phase III and Rush Creek Drainage Improvements (CIP Projects No: 97-001 and 00-015).

These projects included the installation of existing aboveground utilities in an underground joint utility trench; improving and widening Olive Avenue including bike lanes and sidewalks and replacing undersized open drainage ditches (on Olive and Railroad).

An Initial Study for the Project was prepared to determine if the construction and operation of the Project would result in significant environmental impacts as required by California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). The Initial Study did not identify any significant impacts arising from the Project that could not be mitigated to a less-than-significant level. Therefore, the City adopted a Mitigated Negative Declaration for the Project.
