CRIME REPORT REQUESTS 

Submit a request with the Records Department to obtain a copy of your police report or incident information. We are open Monday - Thursday, 8am - 5pm.

*Note: Please allow up to 10 days for a request to be completed from date of submission. Either the requested record or the reason for non-disclosure will be provided promptly, but no later than 10 days from the date of request, unless unusual circumstances preclude doing so.

*Please note: All releases are conditional, relative to the California Public Records Act 7923.600 G.C., 5157 W&I, 828 W &I and 293 PC which prohibit the disclosure of: the names and addresses of suspects, mental health holds, juvenile detentions, narcotic, sex, and arson registrants, victims of sex, hate, and domestic violence crimes, confidential informants, information which could endanger the safety of witnesses or other involved persons or endanger the successful completion of a case or related case. The name and addresses of victims is not released to the suspects or persons arrested in the incident.

TRAFFIC COLLISION REPORTS

Download your traffic collision report online from My Collision Report's online retrieval system. Per California Vehicle Code Section 20012, the use of this site and the information it contains are available only to the following parties:

  • A party involved in the incident (driver, passenger, non-motorist, witness or owner of damaged property including a damaged vehicle)
  • The legal guardian or conservator of a party involved in the incident, or a parent if the party is a minor
  • Legal representation for a party involved in the incident
  • The insurance provider for a party involved in the incident
  • The police department that investigated this incident or their technical staff

PUBLIC RECORDS ACT REQUESTS 

The California Public Records Act (CPRA) ensures access to public records from state agencies and local government. Any person may receive a copy of an identifiable public record. Any City record that is requested will be provided for review, unless it is exempt under the law. 

When requesting records:

  • be as specific as possible
  • include a date range, if applicable
  • include a detailed description of information needed
