In 2018 the Successor Agency Oversight Board was replaced by the Countywide Oversight Board.
Pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 34179 (j) where more than one oversight board was created, there shall be only one Countywide Oversight Board.
The result of Health and Safety Code Section 34179(j) is that the Novato Successor Agency Oversight Board has been dissolved and the County of Marin's "Countywide Oversight Board" has assumed the duties as the Successor Agency Oversight Board.

OVERSIGHT BOARD BACKGROUND
The City of Novato began serving as the Successor Agency to the Novato Redevelopment Agency as of February 1, 2012 under a new state law, AB X1 26, which was upheld by the California Supreme Court on December 29, 2011.
