On Saturday, November 9, the City of Novato and the Rotary Club of Novato Sunrise will host
“Conversations with Veterans”, from 9:30-11:00 am, at Novato City Hall
Too often, our interactions with those in uniform and with veterans are limited to a perfunctory “Thank you for your service!”, when we really don’t know what that service means, or how to converse with a veteran. On Saturday, November 9, the City of Novato and the Rotary Club of Novato Sunrise will host the second annual “Conversations with Veterans” forum, from 9:30-11:00 am, at Novato City Hall. Honoring Veterans Day, the audience will hear from and be able to converse with veterans and a Blue Star Father about their own experiences with military service and what they believe civilians should understand about their service.
“Conversations” brings together WWII Veteran Don Andresen, Army Veteran Dick Locke, West Point Graduates and Iraq War Veterans, Cory and Adrianne Sherk, and Blue Star Dad Christian Thwaites. Novato Mayor Eric Lucan and former Rotary Club of Novato Sunrise President Sylvia Barry will co-host. Gil Sanborn, Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army, will serve as Moderator.
You are invited to attend our event to help honor our veterans and gain an understanding of the sacrifices our veterans made on our behalf. Please direct any questions about this event to Sylvia Barry, 415-717-0293 or Sylvia@SylviaBarryRE.com
