Novato's 2019 4th of July Parade is Out of this World!
Parade Theme: Out of This World!
Location: Grant Avenue between Reichert Avenue and 7th Street in Downtown Novato
Date & Time: Thursday, July 4 at 10am - approximately Noon
The parade needs volunteers! Sign-up now! Tasks are available in the days leading up to the parade, and during and after the parade on July 4. Note: Students can earn community service hours for volunteering with the parade.
Boasting more than one hundred entries, the Novato 4th of July Parade is one of the largest in the San Francisco Bay Area!
Parade-goers arrive early to find good viewing spots & see the pre-parade entertainment including a juggler & stilt walker. The Parade kicks off promptly at 10:00 AM with Lion Dancers, followed by the Novato Police Department color guard. In keeping with this year's theme "Out of this World", the Grand Marshals are Debbie Wreyford & Ken Winans, founders of the Novato Space Museum, Long time favorites include classic cars, festive floats, dancers & bands, decorated basset hounds, the Pini Ace Hardware Drill Team & the Nave Patrola. First time entrants include, Not in Our Town & Cool the Earth.

Please note: Some or all of the following streets will be closed to all traffic, except residents, from approximately 8:00am to 1:00pm on Thursday, July 4:
- Railroad Avenue
- Reichert Avenue
- Scott Court
- Sherman Avenue
- Sweetser Avenue (between Redwood & Railroad)
- Grant Avenue
- Machin Avenue (between Grant & Vallejo)
These closures are necessary to allow for the safe assembly and passage of parade participants.
