Draft District Maps and Interactive Map Review Tool Now Available

Post Date:04/15/2019 4:40 PM

The City Council has been conducting public hearings transitioning from at-large elections to by-district elections. At the next City Council meeting of April 23, the City Council will conduct a public hearing to receive public feedback on the proposed draft district maps submitted by demographer Doug Johnson with the National Demographics Corporation. Per Elections Code section 10010, draft maps and proposed sequence of elections must be posted publicly at least 7 days before  hearing. These draft maps, along with demographics for each map, are now available at novato.org/elections.

We also have an Interactive Review  Map, which allows the public to view the proposed new district maps and zoom in and out to see the map details. Also, you may print it out and share your feedback with the Council on the proposed drafts and/or provide them with a map of your design. You are welcome to send your comments and/or maps to the City Clerk at tgillen@novato.org no later than Tuesday, April 30, 2019.
