Dogbone Meadow Dog Park Temporary Closure

To protect the newly installed turf, park to be closed due to inclement weather

Post Date:01/09/2019 12:00 PM

Dogbone Meadow Dog Park is currently closed due to winter weather.
Conditions are evaluated on a daily basis for reopening.

In order to preserve the integrity of the turf, Dogbone Meadow will be closed during and immediately after inclement weather. Depending on conditions, the park is typically closed for a few days after rain, as is standard practice for maintained dog parks.

Staff has been monitoring the site regularly, and recent inspections show that the turf is saturated from heavy rains. There is no evidence of damage caused by incorrect drainage.

Please check novato.org/dogpark for current information on the status of the park.  You can also subscribe to e-notifications and select Dog Park under Calendar and News to stay informed.

We apologize for the inconvenience the closures have caused to the community.  Our goal is to preserve the park, and protect the community's investment, so it can be enjoyed for many years to come.
