Dogbone Meadow Renovations Start of Construction
Improvements to Dogbone Meadow Dog Park are scheduled to begin on Monday, July 30, and it is anticipated that construction will last approximately 3 months. During construction, the dog park and parking lot will be closed to the public.
The Dogbone Meadow Dog Park Renovations project includes site grading, removal and replacement of irrigation system and lawn, installation of a year-round accessible asphalt path around the lawn area, installation of multiple concrete/asphalt pads for new and existing amenities, partial resurfacing of the parking lot to accommodate new asphalt walkway and to relocate accessible parking stall, restriping of the parking lot, new fencing and gates, relocation of shade structure and signs, and installation of new site amenities such as drinking fountains and a dog wash area.
While Dogbone Meadow construction is underway, dog owners are encouraged to visit other local parks that allow dogs to be off-leash.
Alternative options in Novato include:
- the dog park at Marine Humane located at 171 Bel Marin Keys Boulevard, please contact them directly at 415.883.4621 for information on hours and access;
- the Hamilton Bay Trail also allows dogs off-leash, as long as they are under voice control.
