RECOGNITION OF PARKS AND RECREATION MONTH
City staff and commission members received a proclamation recognizing the month of July as Parks and Recreation Month. Check out some of the awesome events that our Parks and Recreation team has planned for you this summer at novato.org/events.
PUBLIC WORKS RECEIVES NOVATO 4TH OF JULY PARADE AWARD
Novato's Public Works staff received the highest honor at this year's 4th of July Parade! They were presented with the trophy for having the best Overall Theme for their parade float.
DOWNTOWN SMART STATION PHASE 2 FUNDING
The Downtown SMART Station is located at Railroad and Grant Avenues, and will be the third station in Novato located between the Hamilton and San Marin stations. Phase 1 of this project was completed by SMART in April 2017. Additional information on this project is available at novato.org/downtownstation.
DOWNTOWN DEPOT REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) PROCESS
Council received a presentation and authorized City staff to move forward with the RFP process for the renovation and reuse of the City-owned Historic Train Depot and Site located at Railroad and Grant Avenues in Downtown Novato. The RFP is expected to be released at the end of this month. Project information is available at novato.org/downtowndepot.
CANNABIS COMMUNITY OUTREACH PLAN
City staff presented Council with a community outreach plan to help shape the City's policies and regulations related to cannabis. Staff will hold a series of community workshops on July 21, August 8 and August 16. More information is available at novato.org/cannabis.
