Celebrate Earth Day and learn practical, easy ways to create a green and healthy life!  The City invites the community to attend the Green Living Festival, on April 20, from 12pm-4pm at the Novato Civic Green, next to 901 Sherman Avenue.

This free, community event will feature sustainability workshops and talks, electric cars and bikes, green living vendors and resources, entertainment, workshops, kid’s activities and food. The City is partnering with Golden Gate Electric Vehicle Association to host free electric vehicle test drives as part of the national Drive Electric Earth Day campaign. EV owners will also be on hand to share their personal experiences driving electric.

 The Green Living Festival is being held in conjunction with Novato’s 24^th annual Clean and Green Day, which is on the same day from 9:00am – 1:00pm. Novato residents that participate in Clean and Green Day are encouraged to visit the Green Living Festival afterward to receive a special gift from the City to thank them for their service! 

Novato’s Sustainability Coordinator Gretchen Schubeck noted, “The City is really looking forward to bringing the Green Living Festival to our community and to highlighting the many practical, easy ways to create a green and healthy life. With all the dire predictions about our changing climate, is hard to not feel overwhelmed and helpless. The good news is that everyone can do something to help our environment and build community resilience! We all have a part to play in stemming the tide on climate change.”

In addition to the over 30 green living vendors participating in the festival, there will be a City of Novato Sustainability booth where residents can get one-on-one time with City Council members and share their vision on creating a sustainable Novato.
