Conversations with Veterans
- Date: 11/10/2018 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM
- Location: Novato City Hall
901 Sherman Avenue
Novato, California 94945
On Saturday, November 10, the City of Novato and the Rotary Club of Novato Sunrise will host
“Conversations with Veterans”, from 9:30-11:00 am, at Novato City Hall
Too often, our interactions with those in uniform and with Veterans are limited to a perfunctory “Thank you for your service!” when we really don’t know what that service means, or how to have a conversation with a Veteran.
In honor of Veterans Day, the audience will hear from, and be able to converse with, Veterans, an Active-Duty Soldier and a Blue Star Mother, who will share their experiences with military service and what they would like civilians to understand about their lives.
“Conversations” brings together Pearl Harbor survivor and Navy Veteran Don Long, Vietnam Veteran Harry Thomas, Army Captain TJ O’Malley, and Barbara Bochner, Co-President of Blue Star Moms of Marin, with Josh Fryday, Mayor of Novato and Navy Veteran, serving as Host. Sylvia Barry, President of Rotary Club of Novato Sunrise, is Co-Sponsor, along with the City of Novato, and Gil Sanborn, Novato Resident and Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army, will serve as Moderator.
You are invited to attend our event to help honor our Veterans and gain an understanding of the sacrifices our Veterans made on our behalf. Please direct any questions about this event to Sylvia Barry, 415-717-0293 or Sylvia@SylviaBarryRE.com
