The Novato Streetscape Committee was established by Novato City Council in 1994 to foster collaboration among Novato’s residents, community organizations, businesses, and public agencies to develop and implement community-based volunteer programs that promote environmental stewardship, increase civic pride, and contribute to a cleaner, more beautiful Novato.

Mission Statement

Based on awareness of the City of Novato's goals for an attractive streetscape that fits Novato's beautiful natural setting and based on knowledge of the City's streetscape plantings and maintenance needs, the Committee shall function as a team of citizens, businesses, and public agency employees. Members enlist the support of citizens and businesses in order to:

1. Develop recommendations to the City Council for policy actions that are budgetarily achievable and which will stabilize high-quality landscape maintenance in Novato; and
2. Directly communicate with businesses and citizens to help implement volunteer maintenance work and donations for maintenance purposes.
