The City of Novato is currently working on plans for Olive Avenue Improvements Phase III and Rush Creek Drainage Improvements (CIP Projects No: 97-001 and 00-015).
These projects propose the installation of existing aboveground utilities in an underground joint utility trench; improving and widening Olive Avenue including bike lanes and sidewalks and replacing undersized open drainage ditches (on Olive and Railroad).
The Initial Study for the Project has been prepared to determine if the construction and operation of the Project would result in significant environmental impacts as required by California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). The Initial Study did not identify any significant impacts arising from the Project that could not be mitigated to a less-than-significant level. Therefore, the City intends to adopt a Mitigated Negative Declaration for the Project. The Mitigated Negative Declaration and accompanying Initial Study are available for a 30-day public review and comment period beginning March 6, 2015, and ending on April 6, 2015. These documents may be viewed by visiting the City offices, 922 Machin Avenue.
Written comments on the Mitigated Negative Declaration and Initial Study should be directed to the City of Novato, Public Works Department, Attention: Petr Skala, Engineer II, 922 Machin Avenue, Novato, CA 94945 or via email to: firstname.lastname@example.org. Comments must be delivered to the City by 5:00 p.m. on April 6, 2015.
