In response to the widespread and significant number of complaints regarding recreational vehicles (RV) utilizing multiple parking spaces and dumping trash illegally, parking RVs on city streets is prohibited. This type of parking can create health and safety hazards, block lines of sight, and create ingress and egress obstructions for pedestrians, bicyclists, other drivers and emergency vehicles.

Effective November 9, 2017:

RV's may not park on public streets citywide (except when a temporary permit has been issued by the Novato Police Department).

Please note: Enforcement begins on December 9, 2017. Vehicles in violation of the ordinance may be subject to citation and/or being towed.
