Community Police Academy
Open to Novato residents, the Academy shows participants how the NPD trains for the everyday challenges of a career in law enforcement.

Crime Free Multi-Housing Program
A leading crime prevention program targeted at reducing crime, drugs and gangs in multi-unit housing properties.

Volunteers in Policing
This integral program provides important support to the NPD and Novato Community.

Youth Camp
This popular kids summer camp teaches leadership and teamwork.

Police Intern Program
A program to help further prepare and develop qualified college student to enter the field of law enforcement.

Police Explorers
Provides young people with the opportunity to become aware of the Law Enforcement system in their community and to witness and participate in the working environments of the numerous law enforcement areas.

Police Chaplain Program
Novato Police Chaplains are local men and women volunteers from various religious groups, endorsed by their respective ecclesiastical organizations, trained and certified by the International Conference of Police Chaplains - who volunteer their time, talents, and resources to support and assist the members of the Police Department.

Top the Cops
A program where police work with Novato teens to build an environment that promotes mutual understanding and respect.

Minor Alcohol Access Prevention
A program to reduce the availability and consumption of alcohol by our youth.

Designed to enhance cooperation and safety between motorists and bicyclists--includes setting up safety checkpoints, enforcement of hazardous traffic violations and traffic education.

Special Olympics Torch Run
The NPD annually participates in this event to help raise money for the Special Olympics.
"Safe Routes to Schools"
A program which provides a safe environment for Novato students going to and from school.

Policy Advisory and Review Board
Engages the community in the development and review of Department policies, procedures and practices; also reviews community complaints.

Multicultural Commission
Community members who promote diversity in our community and work to prevent hate violence.
