Holiday Happenings in Novato

There's no place like Novato for the holidays! Get into the spirit of the season by attending these upcoming holiday events:

Holiday Crafts Faire on Friday, December 1 from 6-9pm and Saturday, December 2 from 10am-4pm at the Margaret Todd Senior Center, 1560 Hill Road
There will be more than 55 artisans selling handmade crafts including jewelry, ceramics, specialty foods, wreaths, ornaments, bath and body products and more! There will be entertainment throughout the event and a raffle. This event is presented by the City of Novato Parks, Recreation and Community Services department and co-sponsored by the Novato Senior Citizens Club and the Novato Garden Club. Admission is FREE.

Novato's Annual Community Tree Lighting on Saturday, December 2 from 4-8pm on Sherman Avenue
Come enjoy special holiday performances, food and hot drinks at this annual event to kick off the holidays in Downtown Novato! Festivities begin at 4pm.

Breakfast with Santa on Sunday, December 3 from 9am-12pm at the Margaret Todd Senior Center, 1560 Hill Road
Come enjoy a festive pancake breakfast with Santa and fun-filled activities for the kids! Make sure to bring your camera and take a photo with Santa! Ages 6 to Adult: $10 and Children 5 & under are FREE! Please register at novato.org/regforfun and use code bws.1 or at a Novato Parks and Recreation Service Center: Margaret Todd Senior Center, 1560 Hill Road or Novato Gymnastics Center, 950 Seventh Street.

Grand Menorah Lighting on Tuesday, December 12 at 5pm at the Novato Whole Foods Market, 790 DeLong Avenue
Enjoy fun for the whole family with music, dancing, hot latkes and donuts, kids crafts and the lighting of a 10-foot Menorah. This event is FREE.

Holiday Drop 'N Shop on Saturdays, December 9 and December 16 from 10am-3pm at the Hamilton Community Center, 503 South Palm Drive
Novato Parks, Recreation and Community Services is offering two full days of fun and affordable childcare, giving parents some much needed "me" time to complete pre-holiday tasks! While parents are out shopping, kids will be busy as elves working on fun winter wonderland crafts, holiday gifts, games and other activities. Residents: $44 and Non-residents: $54. Please register at novato.org/regforfun and use code hdss.1 for 12/9 and hdss.2 for 12/16.

Winter Wonderland Developmental Meet on Saturday, December 16 from 2:30-4:30pm at Novato Gymnastics Center, 950 7th Street
This annual event is hosted by Novato Gymnastics and is open to participants in the developmental gymnastics program. More info is available at novato.org/events.

Holiday Magic and Movie Double Feature Event on Saturday, December 16 from 5-8pm at City Administrative Offices Flex Space, 922 Machin Avenue
Enjoy a winter magic show by Mike Della Penna followed by our feature holiday movie "Elf" under our wonderful winter tent! Bring your low-back chairs, warm and cozy blankets and pack a picnic for this FREE holiday double feature! Hot cocoa, coffee and popcorn will be available for purchase.

Sundays on Sherman Winter Edition on Sunday, December 17 from 11am-5pm at Sherman Avenue and City Hall
We're taking over Sherman Avenue and the City Administrative Offices Flex Space to play! This event includes a variety of winter wonderland fun including an ice skating rink, face painting, crafts, snowball toss, winter photo booth and more! All ages welcome. Holiday Shopping Days on December 18, 19 and 20 from 3:45-6:30pm at the Novato Gymnastics Center, 950 7th Street
Attention Parents: This is your chance to get a few hours to yourself to shop, wrap, clean or complete whatever you may still have on your holiday to do list. Drop off your kid(s) ages 5-12 for gymnastics, fun games and winter-themed arts & crafts. Residents $20 and Non-residents: $23. Bouncy Ball New Year on Sunday, December 31 at noon in Downtown Novato at the intersection of Machin Avenue and Sweetser Avenue
Join the Downtown Novato Business Association for a New Year's ball drop for those who can't make it to midnight! Kids of all ages are invited to Downtown Novato to see what happened when 18,000 small bouncy balls are dropped onto the street from a ladder truck 40 feet in the air--kids can keep as many bouncy balls as their pockets and buckets can hold! This event is FREE. More info at downtownnovato.com.
